Halloween 2012

Halloween is always a fun, but exhausting night!  We usually go with a group of neighbors and friends that we don't get to see much anymore!  Graham loves to see his friend Luke.  We enjoyed hanging out with everyone!!  Graham was more into trick or treating than he has been before!  This was Brooke's first year to participate.  This time last year, she was just learning to walk!  This year she walked some with Graham, but would get a little overwhelmed.  Graham would take her treat bag for her and get candy when she was resting.  When we got near the house, Brooke got her bag and went to the doors like a pro.  We had lots of fun!!!  If you couldn't tell, Graham was Luigi (from Super Mario Brothers) and Brooke was Cinderella!

Graham's 3rd Recognition

Graham received his 3rd recognition for completing his first reading log.  He was very proud, as usual.  He was so tired from all the previous days activities that he fell asleep after school!!

Neighborhood Party

Our neighborhood had their annual Halloween Party today.  We had a busy day of church, baseball, and then party!  Brooke was a trooper only getting a 30 minute nap!  I told both kids to pick out their costumes.  The good thing about having so many is they have their pick!  For some reason, Graham wanted to be a pirate and Brooke chose to be a giraffe!  We have plenty of superheroes and princesses, but they chose others!!  We had fun with our friends and enjoyed dancing.  I only got a couple of pictures!

Super Saturday

Saturdays are our day to relax.  We went and visited mom.  Brooke immediately took off her shoes and put on her high heels at Nanny's house.  She looked so funny walking around!!

Later that afternoon, Graham's friend Cooper, was at a neighbor's house.  Graham rode with Mr. Mark to pick Cooper up... he was waiting on the 4 wheeler.  He looked so cute that i had to take a picture!!  Jokingly, i sent it to Iain telling him Graham wanted that for Christmas, haha!!

 

 



We finally carved our second pumpkin.  Brooke didn't want to take a picture with the pumpkin, but Vampire Graham did!!

 

And to end the night, the kids wanted to dress up.  Both of my kids have PLENTY of costumes.  I buy them after halloween when they go on sale.  I didn't take pictures of all the outfits they put on, but i did of a few.  You will see Graham is growing out of a few of them!!!

Fun Friday

We had a fun Friday!!  Graham wrote in his newsbook like he does every week, but this week was super sweet.  He wrote I love my mom I love my dad...  I took a picture to send to Iain and thought i would share with everyone!!

Graham's school had their Fall Festival tonight.  We have been for 4 years, but this was my first year to have to work a table for Graham's class.  Mom and Maeghen came and helped watch the kids while i worked some.  Graham and Brooke had so much fun, but unfortunately i didn't get many pictures.... 

Zoo Class #4

We had another fun zoo class today.  We read the Very Hungry Caterpillar and made Caterpillar hats.  We got to see a guinea pig (which are nocturnal = not very good pets), a lizard of some kind, and an owl!!!  Brooke came really close to petting the guinea pig, but changed her mind at the last minute!  Then we went to feed the turtles and ride the train!  Brooke wanted to go in the barn before we left to see the pigs, chickens, and goats.  Fun stuff!! 

Graham's Reading Log

Graham filled up his reading log.  He read 25 books in 12 days!!  He is becoming such a great reader!  The first thing he does when he gets home from school  is his homework!  He usually loves to read.  We have found a cute series of books called Magic Tree House.  I have started reading those stories to him at bedtime and we are loving them.  I am so glad he loves to read and hope it continues!

Graham's 2nd Recognition

Graham was so excited to get off the bus today.  He couldn't wait to show me and all the other moms his recognition.  This one was for awesome handwriting.  He has been working hard to get his handwritting better!!  He is doing so good!  We are so proud of him!!

Carving Pumpkins

We bought our big pumpkins today!  Graham was begging me to carve the pumpkins.  I always forget how much work carving pumpkins are!!  Graham, Cooper, and Brooke were ready to help, or so I thought.  They lasted about 2 minutes digging all the stuff out of the pumpkin.... then i finished.  Graham picked out the pattern and i worked diligently!!  I thought the finished product looked great!  One down one more to go!!!

Graham's report card

Graham's 1st report card came today!  He got all S's which is the best you can get!  His daddy and I are SO proud of our smart boy!!!  I would also like to give myself some credit for ZERO tardies.  I was really worried about him being late for school, but we are doing great every morning!!  We went out to dinner to celebrate a great week and then we got ice cream!  I took a picture of the report card to send to Iain, you can't see too much.  Graham also writes in his newsbook weekly at school.  The teacher tells them to write anything they want.  I was very happy to see what he wrote this week.  He is such a sweet boy too!!  Love him so much!!

Chocolate

McWane Center

We went to the McWane Center today.  We are trying to go once a month to play.  We pick a different floor everytime and the kids have a ball!!

Sassy part 2

Here is another picture of my sweet Sassy!!!  This week when i am getting her ready, she says "NO BOW!" I am hoping she will let me fix her hair again.  She used to get upset when i would take her bow out for naptime.  Hoping this passes quickly! 

Graham's 1st Recognition

Graham's teacher doesn't give out too many recognitions.  He was very excited when he got off the bus and couldn't wait to show me his recognition!  I think he showed everyone at the bus stop!  He was recognized for not pulling a card (having good behavior) the 1st nine weeks!  I am so proud of him! 

Making Memories

I am really trying to focus more on enjoying my kids instead of worrying about what task needs to be completed!!  This is the year that i am trying not to over commit myself and enjoy doing things with kids.  I am outside playing with kids most afternoons.  I am trying to do lots of fun things with Brooke on our days together!  So far so good, it is a work in progress.  Graham loves to make cookies, and Brooke is enjoying it too!  So when Graham asks to put sprinkles on them, i remind myself that we are making messes, i mean memories!!!  I also let Graham decorate for Halloween, without worrying about how it looked.  I just let the kids have fun .  He added spiderwebs and ghosts to the bushes.  Our mailbox has spiderwebs and homemade spiders!  It is all about making memories!

Impromptu Movie Night

We just finished dinner and came in the living room to play.  We are eagerly waiting on daddy to wake up and call us...  Turned on the tv and saw a cartoon halloween movie about to start..  MOVIE NIGHT!!  I pause the tv, run upstairs to grab pillow pets and sleeping bags, while Graham pops popcorn... and there you have an impromptu movie night!  They should be entertained for a few minutes, right???  Let's hope!

Pizza Picnic

We had baseball practice tonight, so we picked up a pizza on the way home.  Graham wanted to have a picnic in the driveway, so we did!!!

Zoo class - 3

We had our zoo class on Friday.  The animals they brought out were a snake and a ferret.  We made a scarecrow craft, that Brooke loved.  We rode the carousel again and saw several animals.  Another fun zoo class!  I asked the teacher if we could feed the giraffes on week and she is going to try and work that out!!  That would be fun!  The zoo is all decorated for Boo at the Zoo.  Brooke found Cinderella, she LOVES Cinderella!
